I had some rum punch the other day at a friends bridal shower.
And when I tell you it almost changed my life, trust and believe I mean it.
The rum punch was so good. SO good. It was just sweet enough so you forgot there was alcohol in it, but not too sweet that you thought you were drinking kool-aid.
It was this perfect mix of juices with this kick of coconut the played out at the end.
So obviously, I got the recipe.
And then my heart sank.
Not that I didn’t already know that rum punch was really just sugar layered on top of sugar layered on top of magic unicorn dust for extra sugared love and flavor. But I wasn’t prepared to look it in it’s face.
Seeing things written out in hard black print always brings a dose of reality.
For this reason, food journals will always rock my world. They’re the ONLY way to stay truly accountable to what you eat.
Knowing what I know about cocktails (find out what I know here) – they can be a death blow to a week of healthy eating perfection if they’re not done right – I also knew I needed to make this rum punch into something I could drink plenty of and not regret the next day.
Something that would let me have some snacks with my cocktail. OK, cocktails. Listen, I don’t judge YOU…
And then I found it.
My New Favorite (mostly) Healthy Coconut Rum Punch
This is the perfect kind of cocktail that’s light on calories and heavy on taste. It has minimal sugar, maximum flavor, and a solid kick that will keep the party going for as long as you want it to.
As an added bonus, it’s made with seltzer so you might even stay pretty hydrated while you drink. Avoid that potential hangover.

The Extremely Delicious Healthy (ish) Coconut Rum Punch
There are not a lot of things worse than having to decide between that delicious thing you want to eat a lot of and your health. If for that reason alone, if you're ready for a cocktail that will keep you fairly on point with your diet and overall health, make this one. I promise you won't regret it.
Ingredients
- 1 1L bottle Coconut water Coconut seltzer works great too
- 2 Pints Coconut rum I like Bacardi Coconut
- 1 Cup OJ
- 1 Cup Fruit Punch
- 1 Lime, squeeze for juice
Instructions

Mix all ingredients together with a good amount of ice and serve!
