Keep a small baggy with a tablespoon of tumeric, a teaspoon each of cinnamon, ground ginger and black pepper tucked away somewhere easy. Like your desk or your purse.
When you find yourself automatically going into your favorite coffee spot, you’ll have 2 choices.
You can get the latte you know you want and add a spoonful of the tumeric mix you have with you into it and kick that sucker up about 17 notches. Or just order a steamed milk (of your choice, one with some fat in it preferably, as fat and black pepper both aid in the absorption of tumeric), and make your own golden milk.
Both are definitely healthier than some kind of caramel mocha situation. Either are SO good.
Here’s how to make Coconut Golden Milk.
Golden Coconut Milk
If you've never had this, you need to try it. Not only is it good (like really good), it's also unbelievably healthy. Drinking this on a regular basis will give you a steady supply of anti-inflammation, antibacterial, antiviral and antioxidants you need to stay healthy. You'll also probably get extra health benefits like improved cholesterol, weight loss, maybe even less joint pain. You'll probably get sick less often too.
Ingredients
- 3 cups Coconut milk full fat
- 3 tbsp Tumeric
- 1 tbsp Black pepper
- 3 tsp Cinnamon
- 3 tsp Ginger, ground
- 1 tbsp Honey
Instructions

Heat the coconut milk in a sauce pan until just warmed

In a small bowl, add the tumeric, cinnamon, ginger and black pepper.

Add a couple tsp of the warmed coconut milk to the ingredients in the mug. Stir until smooth and then add the paste to the saucepan with the rest of the coconut milk.

Continue to warm, stirring until hot.

Add the honey right before removing from the heat. Stir to dissolve.

Pour into a cup, sprinkle with a bit more cinnamon and enjoy!
