Frozen Hot Chocolate Healthy Morning Smoothie

It's like drinking a chocolate milkshake for breakfast. But way healthier. Flax gets you a solid serving of omega-3's, Greek yogurt gets you protein to keep you full, cocoa powder gets you a nice dose of antioxidants (and good taste, clearly). Rich, creamy and indulgent. This one's for my chocolate lovers!

Servings 1 big serving (2 if you're generous)

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened chocolate almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons ground flax seeds
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp instant coffee granules  Add more if you're looking for a mocha thing (or a caffeine boost - I don't judge)
  • 1 cup frozen plain Greek yogurt Yes! You can do this. Keep a few single serving containers in the freezer for smoothie day when you're not using frozen fruit. Or freeze Greek yogurt that's about to expire in ice cube trays instead of tossing.
  • Sweetener to taste optional

Instructions

  1. Toss everything into a blender and blend until smooth.

  2. Pour, drink, enjoy!
